Local transporter, girlfriend in trouble

Sunday News Reporter

A LOCAL commuter omnibus owner is wanted by the police, together with his girlfriend on allegations of using his kombi to incite political violence.

Vusi Moyo together with Candy Ncube are said to have been hiring out their taxi to members of the Citizens for Coalition Change, where it was then used to distribute political materials that incited people to demonstrate against the government.

The couple are based in Pumula North.

Sources revealed that despite the two having denied the allegations they, especially Mr Moyo were know political activities having attended a number of CCC events where they were caught on the wrong side of the law.

“These two operated a transport business and their commuter omnibus was identified as one of the cars that were distributing some fliers that called on citizens to demonstrate against the government.

“Moyo was arrested and questioned but we are now failing to locate his girlfriend, Ncube, we have left summons at all her known places of possible residence but these have not been honoured,” said a police source.

A colleague of the couple however revealed that Ncube had informed them that she had been allegedly raped by unknown individuals when her boyfriend was arrested.

“She said she feared for her life as the people had told her that they would return to deal with her, as it stands we do not know where she disappeared to but she just told us that she was now living in fear,” said the friend who preferred anonymity.
