ZDRAVKO Logarusic enjoyed his revenge mission as he helped Eswatini to a comprehensive 3-0 win over Zimbabwe in a Africa Nations Championship qualifier in Francistown yesterday.
Loga, who had a forgettable stint as the Warriors coach in 2021, is now in charge of Eswatini.
This was his first victory since taking over in Eswatini and it was a big one.
Takesure Chiragwi is in charge of the Warriors team taking part in the CHAN qualifiers.
The composition of the team isn’t a reflection of the quality in domestic football.
Many of the best players were left behind and a number of rookies, including some who are playing in Division One, were called up for national duty.
Eswatini use the same players for the CHAN qualifiers and AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.
Most of their players are based at home.
Loga picked 25 of the best-performing players in the Eswatini Premier League, which began a few weeks ago.
Ahead of the match, Loga told journalists in Eswatini that he was looking beyond the first-round clash with Zimbabwe, to atone for the poor run by his team since his appointment at the end of August.
“We stand a better chance to qualify for CHAN than the other competitions,” he told journalists.
