MOVE over Master H, here comes Master T.
Tinashe Calvin Musona, also known as Master T, is a new kid on the Afro-Jazz musical scene.
The upcoming crooner is celebrating the release of three studio tracks – ‘Ndakamirira Iwe’, ‘Zvakutoda Nharo’ and ‘Far’.
He told H-Metro he is optimistic the new productions will claim slots on the airwaves.
“The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so goes the saying. I’m not there to beat my own drum but l am sure the listeners will be able to make their own judgment after assessing the music,” he said.
“I bring to the table a different and unique breath of music born from many years of practice and composition.
“The fact that l was brought up in a rural setup afforded me the chance to meditate a lot and by the time l was past high school, everyone back home – teachers, family, friends – were certain l was destined for nothing but an arts career.
“I can testify that Master T is a brand that has come a long way from the time l was a student in Mt Darwin right up to the stints with a number of studios that include Drikatru, back home in Mashonaland Central, and Mount Zion in Harare.
“My music has, to a great extent, been influenced by the late legend Oliver Mtukudzi, who gave me all the reasons to settle for a genre for the more mature and music whose life span is long.
“I strive to produce music which, even when l am long gone, will stand the test of time.”
The three tracks will soon be launched on Radio Zimbabwe.
The songs were recorded at a studio in Johannesburg.
A local artist, Far, featured on the title track.
This weekend, he is billed for his debut live performance in Gweru, where he will share the stage with established crooners Tocky Vibes and MicInity.
Gweru’s finest DJs – 007, Tunemaster and Explicit – will be part of the family show at the The Village Escape White Waters Dam.
According to Master T’s management team, getting a slot on this show is important given
