Lone Star ready to burn Mali

against Mali tomorrow will serve as another platform to build a competitive team ahead of the 2014 World Cup preliminary round matches against Mauritius next month.
The Lone Star are unbeaten at home in the current 2014 Nations Cup qualifiers and were given a raw deal, in the 1-2 loss to Mali, in Bamako.

Speaking after Lone Star training session at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia yesterday, Kojo said although Liberia had crashed out of the race for the 2014 Nations Cup finals, the country needed to use the final gap as part of their building process ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
“Liberia has great coaches who can do the work and we are ready to do better this time around and if we lost the chances of qualifying to the 2014 World Cup, it mains Liberia will be out of action for a very long time,” said Kojo.

This thrust by the Liberians also show that they will give a competitive edge to the game despite earlier fears that they will not put everything into the match against Mali following their elimination from the 2014 Nations Cup finals.
The Lone Star technical staff has invited five foreign-based players to join the home based players for the tie against Mali.

The players include captain Anthony Laffor, Sekou Jabateh Oliseh, Ansu Touer, Alseny Keita and Jimmy Dixon.
If Liberia win against Mali, despite being eliminated from the 2014 Nations Cup finals, many football supporters believe it will put the Lone Star in a good position to defeat Mauritius next month in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

If all goes well against Mauritius, Liberia stands the chance of joining the likes of Senegal, Angola and Uganda to battle for a qualifying spot in the world’s biggest football competition.
Liberia have been boosted by the good form of winger Sekou Jabateh Oliseh who was in imperious form last week for his Russian Club, CSKA Moscow, in the Uefa Champions League.
Jabateh’s team battled 2010 Champions League winners, Inter Milan, in an entertaining encounter and lost 2-3 on home soil in Moscow.

Jabateh, displaying his range of skills, was fouled by the Inter defence and Dzagoev scored from the free-kick spot right before half-time, making the score 2-1.
CSK Moscow came back from the half -time break in high spirits and piled the pressure on the Inter defence, resulting in the equalizer from Vagner Love in the 77th minute.

But Inter stole victory two minutes from time.
Liberians believe the brilliant performance of Jabateh during the match could be a good sign for the national team in their match against Mali.

The Liberian forward played the full 90 minutes.
Many Liberians believe Jabateh could be the next George Weah. – LiberianSoccer.com.
