After years of calls from travellers and tourism players, Fastjet Zimbabwe has finally answered, announcing the introduction of direct flights between Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.

The much-anticipated route is set to commence on Friday, August 8, 2025, marking a significant milestone for connectivity within the Matabeleland region.

The new domestic service will operate four times a week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Flights will depart Bulawayo at 13:25hrs, arriving in Victoria Falls at 14:20hrs, with return flights departing Victoria Falls at 14:50hrs and landing in Bulawayo at 15:45hrs.
“Fastjet will deploy its Embraer fleet on this route. The regional jet is perfectly suited for such short-haul flights, providing customers with a comfortable and reliable travel experience,” said Fastjet Zimbabwe corporate affairs manager Nunurai Ndawana in a statement.

Ndawana said the new route is a strategic step in strengthening the airline’s presence in Bulawayo and underscores Fastjet’s commitment to supporting tourism growth in Zimbabwe’s prime destinations.
“The new Bulawayo-Victoria Falls flight enhances travel opportunities for both leisure and corporate travellers, reaffirming our role as a key airline partner in connecting the Matabeleland region,” Ndawana added.

Fastjet Zimbabwe’s chief commercial officer, Vivian Ruwuya, highlighted the years of planning, consultation, and anticipation that went into making this route a reality.
“This has been a long time coming. We have been monitoring travel patterns between the manufacturing hub of Bulawayo and our tourism capital, Victoria Falls. The decision to introduce scheduled flights was driven by industry collaboration and a clear demand from travellers,” Ruwuya said.

For years, passengers commuting between Bulawayo and Victoria Falls have faced the inconvenience of long road trips or connecting flights via Harare, a time-consuming and costly alternative.
