Low turnout puts a damper on Allan Chimbetu show

ALLAN Chimbetu’s show at Waverly Hotel in Bulawayo was almost as flop as very few people attended. This however did not stop him from belting hit after hit. Chimbetu would ask fans to request songs they wanted to hear during the show, especially yesteryear songs. He played songs such as Dzandipedza Mafuta, Kuya Manera, Professor, Rudo Ibofu and One Way. One Way proved to be the fans’ favourite as they continued to ask the band to play it over and over again.

Speaking after the show, Allan blamed the poor attendance to the fact that he was still to establish a fan base in the city.

“The turnout might have been due to the fact that we are still introducing our acts to Bulawayo and fans are not used to me and my band.

“This is why we played even for the few so that they can go tell others so that next time we have a full house,” said Allan.
