Loyalty programme set to revolutionise shopping

promotion.
This week I would like to update fellow consumers on the work that Buy Zimbabwe is doing for them as we near the week.
Buy Zimbabwe is developing and preparing for the launch of the mother of all loyalty programmes that the country has ever seen – the Buy Zimbabwe Loyalty Programme – which promises to be a big hit from the Buy Zimbabwe Week going on forward. Just for your benefit.

The Buy Zimbabwe Week will run from November 28, 2011 to December 2 and it is an offer of huge prizes and excitement for the loyal consumer.
This loyalty programme, which leads the Buy Zimbabwe Campaign into the third phase of implementation, emphasises the importance of satisfying consumers’ needs, and sometimes wants, because as Buy Zimbabwe we seek to go the extra mile.
For a long time, consumers have questioned what is in it for them to start buying local.

What is it that a consumer benefits from buying Zimbabwean products as compared to foreign goods?
As Buy Zimbabwe we believe that apart from making purchasing decisions that are actuated by emotion/pride instead of reason, consumers need to make decisions that deliver convenience, affordability and rewards, all packaged into an electronic Buy Zimbabwe Card with unlimited transactional capabilities.

With this card, consumers who wish to buy their favourite quality local brands no longer have to carry cash around with them every time they go shopping.
All they need to do is safely and securely store money into their card through transfer from their bank account pretty much like any other account on the market and swipe from any leading retail outlet.
However, that’s not all. If the cardholder makes a purchase of any of the participating local brands their purchase earns them points which can be redeemed for shopping vouchers, gift certificates and prizes if there is a promotion run under the Buy Zimbabwe banner.

Apart from the points system other features that will be packaged into the card include discounted holiday packages, medical and roadside assistance, etc.
These are all real tangible benefits which the loyal consumer will receive while they enjoy their quality Zimbabwean purchases. To add the cherry on to a well-baked cake, cardholders shall be able to enjoy the convenience of the Buy Zimbabwe Card online or via cellphone.

In a nutshell, the Buy Zimbabwe loyalty programme will also come with the full functionality of an e-commerce system that will allow the consumer to transact from anywhere where there is internet and cellular coverage.

Buy Zimbabwe partners have expressed a strong desire to deliver value to the consumer and a loyalty programme such as this makes it more than just a possibility.
Last week Friday Buy Zimbabwe hosted a Partners cocktail and networking session, which I must say, went beyond my wildest imagination.

The commitments made during that night are confirmation that our team of local brands is geared to beat foreign competition at their own game.
True to the theme of the main discussion tabled that night which stated that, “Charity begins at home” the companies represented at the cocktail unanimously agreed that it was important for them to lead the process of buying Zimbabwe by purchasing quality locally produced raw materials and products from each other.

The companies included Turnall, TN Bank, Olivine, Willowvale Mazda Motor Industries, Lyons, Schweppes, Capri, ZBC, Obel, Bevpack, IDC, National Foods and Tanganda.
Industrial Development Corporation general manager Mr Mike Ndudzo, who highlighted the economic benefits of buying local, made the event worthwhile.

Mr Ndudzo also highlighted the importance of local companies getting into strategic partnerships that would ensure that their operations become more competitive.
Clearly, the developments which include the loyalty programme and the commitment made by Buy Zimbabwe partners to form closer networks is set to take the competition to foreign alternatives.

The consumer should really be looking forward to unimaginable benefits were prices and quality of local brands will become more and more competitive. For now I can say local businesses are genuinely “going beyond words”.

Till next week its GO ZIM ZIM . . . and God bless.
