adminJOHANNESBURG. — South African news parody show Late Night News has been nominated for an international Emmy Award, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced recently. The show, presented by Loyiso Gola and which is in its eighth season, has been nominated in the comedy category of the award ceremony’s global competition.
“Every year, the global television community competes for an Emmy, the most prestigious of all media awards, and we congratulate the 2013 nominees for their outstanding programmes and performances,” said Bruce Paisner, president and chief executive officer of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The Mother City will now have its chance to see Gola, no stranger to awards, up close and personal when he performs at the Baxter Theatre from Tuesday, 19 to Saturday, November 23.
