adminCape Town – German airline Lufthansa has cancelled a total of 1,350 flights, affecting flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg, after pilots went on strike in an ongoing dispute over retirement benefits.
Lufthansa spokesperson Karen Duncker confirmed Monday and Tuesday’s flights to and from South Africa had been affected.
“The airline has notified the passengers concerned and they’re in the process of making alternative flight arrangements,” Duncker said.
Affected passengers are also being advised to contact the airline. Reports indicate that plans call for tomorrow’s flights to be normally scheduled again – a special flight plan for the total strike period is available on www.LH.com – Traveller24.
