Luis Suarez off to Barca

LONDON. — Liverpool and Barcelona have reached agreement over a transfer for Luis Suarez worth £70m. Barcelona expect to finalise a deal for Liverpool striker Suarez over the next 48 hours.
Reports in Spain suggest that an agreement was struck late on Thursday night.

Barcelona flew into London earlier this week to hold negotiations, which were described as “productive” after the first day.

But it seems that a second day of talks have been even more fruitful and that a deal has now been struck.

Suarez on Thursday  reached a verbal agreement over a contract to move to Catalonia, and it now seems only a matter of time until the Uruguayan is unveiled as a Barcelona player.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is said to be delighted that the Camp Nou outfit are closing in on the player, even though Suarez won’t be available to play for his new club until the end of October.

Suarez was banned for nine international matches and four-months from all football after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup. — Daily Express-Mailonline
