SPARES Mania Investments, the owners of Zimbabwe’s beloved Luna Park Family Amusement Park, have announced their return to Bulawayo just in time for the April holidays.
This year, visitors can look forward to an exciting line-up of new attractions, including thrilling quad bikes, fun-filled trampolines, adventurous water walkers, and delicious toffee apples, making it the perfect destination for families seeking adventure and fun this season.
As Zimbabwe’s only mobile leisure-ride centre, Luna Park moves to different cities monthly, including Gweru, Beitbridge and Masvingo. For April, the park will be stationed at the open space on the corner of Masotsha Ndlovu Avenue and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Street, in Bulawayo.
Established in the 1970s, Luna Park has long been a holiday favourite for both children and adults. The park is especially popular during the Easter holidays and the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) period, drawing large crowds eager to relive childhood memories and experience new thrills.
Family Amusement Park’s managing director, Witness Chihota, expressed excitement about returning to Bulawayo, calling it one of their favourite locations.
“Among all the cities we visit, Bulawayo stands out because of the overwhelming support we receive. It always feels like home, knowing we’re coming to a place where people truly appreciate and enjoy our services. Of all the places we’ve toured, Bulawayo remains among the best,” said Chihota.
Alongside the new activities, all the beloved classic rides will remain, including exhilarating water slides and charming horse rides.
“We’re thrilled to introduce these new attractions while keeping our classic rides. Our goal is to create unforgettable memories for families and ensure that every visit is filled with fun and excitement,” said Chihota.
The park has already set up 80% of the rides, with the remaining attractions expected to be ready shortly after schools close.
“We’ve already installed most of the well-known rides. The remaining ones will be set up as soon as schools close since more children will be available to enjoy them,” he added.
“We have studied our Bulawayo customers and realised they need our services the most during April. That’s why we chose to camp at Masotsha Ndlovu Avenue,” said Chihota.
To enhance the experience, Chihota said the Zimbabwe Republic Police will offer additional horse rides, and other entertainment providers will bring alternative rides to ensure a diverse selection of fun-filled activities.
