Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe — in a landmark event today, Lupane State University (LSU) will confer degrees on 1 708 graduands during its 15th Graduation Ceremony, presided over by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The impressive cohort includes a diverse array of academic achievements: 1 Doctorate, 31 Postgraduate diplomas, 221 Masters Degrees, 441 Special Honours degrees, 942 Undergraduate degrees, and 72 Diplomas.
Notably, 59 percent of the total graduands are female, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting gender equality in higher education.
This milestone is a testament to LSU’s focus on the Education 5.0 initiative, which aims to produce well-rounded graduates equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing economy.
The graduation ceremony underscores the importance of education as a driver of national development and social progress, aligning with the Government’s broader goals for innovation and community engagement. President Mnangagwa is expected to address the achievements of the graduates and the role of education in fostering sustainable development in Zimbabwe.
