FORMER champions FC Platinum have parted ways with coach Joel Luphahla and replaced him with South African Thabo Senong following a series of poor results.
The club announced that Luphahla will leave with his entire backroom staff, with Alexio Sigion and Moses Mwafulirwa to take charge of training in the interim while contract negations with Senong are being finalised.
“We would like to express our gratitude to coach Luphahla and his team for their dedication, hard work and contributions to the club, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavours,” FC Platinum said in a statement.
“The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Thabo Senong as head coach, subject to the completion of contractual and registration formalities.
“In the interim, Coaches Moses Mwafulira and Alexio Sigion will take charge of training and preparations for the team.
“We extend a warm welcome to Coach Senong as he joins the FC Platinum family, and we look forward to an exciting new chapter under his leadership. We thank our supporters, sponsors and stakeholders for their continued support.”
Luphahla joined FC Platinum before the start of the season and immediately unveiled nine new signings. However, results have consistently evaded the team. FC Platinum are currently 11th on the log standings with 31 points from 25 games. They have won just six of their matches, drawn 13 ad lost six.
