REIGNING Miss Universe Zimbabwe Lyshanda Moyas’ stunning beauty has, naturally, attracted thousands of admirers.
They include men who dream of having her as their girlfriend, or even their wife.
The 27-year-old beauty queen, model and nurse from Gweru was propelled into the limelight after she was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe in May last year.
She went on to represent the country at the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Thailand.
However, for those who dream of having her as their romantic partner, we have some bad news.
Lyshanda is MARRIED.
The beauty queen has kept her marriage out of the public spotlight.
We can reveal that Lyshanda was married to Clinton Chareka, 30, in December 2024.
Clinton immediately left the country to live in the UK.
He returned in April last year, just a month before Lyshanda was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe, to complete the lobola payments.
After her crowning moment, she was taken to the Chareka family house in Greendale, where she was ceremonially welcomed by her in-laws, according to local custom.
H-Metro has a video of the event.
Lyshanda chose not to follow her husband and live with him in the UK.
This has not gone down well with some members of the Chareka family.
Married women and mothers were allowed to contest the Miss Universe beauty pageant last year.
When approached for comment, Lyshanda said she didn’t want to discuss the issue.
“I would rather not comment about this matter. I do not want to say anything about it.”
Clinton also declined to discuss the issue.
Lyshanda succeeded Sakhile Dube after impressing with her poise, intelligence in what was the career highlight of 14 years in the modelling trenches.
At the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, Lyshanda showcased a stunning Baobab-inspired national costume.
She is an advocate for education and empowerment.
The 2025 Miss Universe pageant was marked by controversy.
Fatima Bosch of Mexico emerged victorious.
But, the event itself was overshadowed by a viral incident involving Thai pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil.
During a live-streamed segment, Itsaragrisil berated Bosch, calling her “dumb” for not posting enough promotional content, leading to a walkout by other contestants and widespread outrage.
In addition, allegations of rigging surfaced when two judges, including Lebanese-French composer Omar Harfouch, resigned, claiming that a “secret and illegitimate” vote had occurred prior to the official jury’s deliberation for the top 30 contestants.
