BULAWAYO dancehall artiste Ma9nine has brought together some of the city’s dancehall talent on Uluju Riddim, the first riddim released by Wazin Family Studios.
The project features a number of Bulawayo artistes riding the same dancehall instrumental, with a 13-artiste medley already available on YouTube.
Ma9nine, born Hansel Ndlovu in Victoria Falls on September 9, 1995, said the project was created to showcase Bulawayo’s dancehall talent.
“It is the first riddim from Wazin Family Studios, featuring top Bulawayo dancehall artistes. The medley is already out on YouTube and is doing well,” he said.
The medley features NK Platinum, Mr Gogo, Ndustoz, Ghetto Boi, Ndoxman, T One, Bhuru Abaity, Young King, Tinoster, Deevox, Bestoz, Hick Mbatata and Miller.
Other artistes involved in the wider riddim project include Stuntfamer, Wachano, Tripple G, Uncle Slim and Ras Tekken.
Ma9nine said the project follows the traditional riddim format, where different artistes record their own songs over the same instrumental.
“It is a dancehall riddim, so every artiste rides the same beat,” he said.
The project also comes with an incentive for the participating artistes, with the artiste whose contribution attracts the most views set to receive a prize from Golden Easy Delivery.
Ma9nine, who is a brand ambassador for the company, said the initiative was part of efforts to encourage support for local artistes.
