BUSINESSMAN and former Zanu-PF Chitungwiza Ward 25 councillor, Fredrick Mabamba (54), is being sued by his ex-girlfriend for $8 200 for maintenance of a child.

In her application filed at the Harare Civil Court, Carolina Madovi, claimed she fell in love with Mabamba while working as a secretary at one of his schools.

“I was working for Fredrick Mabamba as a secretary at one of his schools in Zengeza 4 when we fell in love in July 2012,” reads part of Madovi’s application.

She claimed Mabamba owns a flourishing business premise in Unit O Seke and was also a land developer owning United We Stand Cooperative.

“I gave birth to a pre-mature baby boy on September 2013 at Belvedere Maternity Home. The baby stayed in the hospital for two months because of this special condition.

“The hospital bill amounted to $2 300 and I sold most of my assets in order to raise money and clear the bill,” reads Madovi’s application.

Madovi claimed Mabamba was earning at least $45 000 per month from his businesses, yet he was failing to maintain his child.

She also claimed Mabamba never paid a cent ever since the birth of the child and also failed to provide for him in any way despite the fact that he is a baby with very special condition.

“Currently, the baby is having challenges with his heart, lungs, liver and kidneys,” reads Madovi’s application.

The matter is expected to be heard in court on September 16.
