MABELREIGN Girls High School (MGHS) dominated the “Let Them Trust Festival” held at Churchill School in Harare recently.

The MGHS choir — made up of learners from the school itself and Ellis Robins School, and led by Shelter Nyandoro — won the Best Music Award trophy.

Nyasha Satumba, the school’s head girl, impressed the judges with her powerful spoken word performance on substance abuse, earning her the Best Poet Award.

Mabelreign’s fashion team, MGHS Catwalk Queens, showcased their talent at the event, landing the Best Fashion Award. Theodora Chirapa, a teacher at the school, believes the performing arts can empower women and contribute to Zimbabwe’s development.
