Sungura music star Alick Macheso’s dancer Selemani Mpochi, popularly known as Majuice by his horde of fans, has appeared in court on allegations of raping his 17-year-old girlfriend.
Mpochi (34) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi yesterday who remanded him out of custody on his own recognizance. The court heard that on August 20, the complainant sent a text message to Mpochi begging him to drive her to Kuwadzana the following day for a party.
It is alleged that the next day, Mpochi met the complainant and they proceeded to Kuwadzana where he dropped her and went away.
At around 5pm the following day, the complainant sent a massage to Mpochi asking him to pick her up and he complied.
The court heard that Mpochi and the complainant went to a certain house in Crowborough phase 3 where they went into a room and sat on the bed.
Mpochi allegedly gave the complainant beer and left to buy her food. It is the State’s case that Mpochi was intimate with the complainant without her consent.
It is alleged that Mpochi deflowered the complainant in the process and asked her not to tell anyone.
After the incident, Mpochi drove the complainant to her house where she arrived late.
It is said the girl’s mother asked why she had come back home late and she revealed what had happened, leading to Mpochi’s arrest.
