SUNGURA superstar Alick Macheso, who is riding on the success of his latest album Kupa Kuturika, is set to electrify Gwanda on Friday, (01 November) with a show at the upmarket entertainment joint Phoenix Tshisanyama.
Macheso, who last performed in Gwanda about seven years ago, is expected to put the mining town (Gwanda) in the limelight.
His performance is anticipated to draw a large crowd, as his music continues to resonate with fans across generations.
The venue Phoenix Tshisanyama, now under new management, is apparently turning into a house of entertainment after recently hosting Enzo Ishall, Zoey, Zhezhingtonz, Zagoe Radge, and most recently, the South African Amapiano duo Murumba Pitch, who left fans wanting more.
Show organisers confirmed to B-Metro that this would be the sungura kingpin’s first show in Gwanda in nearly seven years, generating significant excitement among local fans.
“As the new management at Phoenix Tshisanyama, we’ve listened to the pleas of the Sungura-starved fans in Gwanda who have been eager to see Macheso. They should expect an energy-filled performance from the sungura king.
“This is also to ensure that all Macheso fans in Gwanda get the chance to experience the new album live and witness his electrifying performance after nearly seven years.
“A lot of preparations have been made, and fans should come in large numbers and dance the night away with Cheso Power,” the event organisers said.
They assured fans that adequate security measures will be in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
“Crowd control measures will also be implemented to prevent overcrowding and any potential incidents.
“Ticket prices for the show have also been set at a reasonable price to cater to a wide range of fans. Given the expected large turnout, fans are advised to arrive early to secure parking,” they said.
