MACHESO JOZI SHUTDOWN

Blessed Katiyo in  JOHANNESBURG

ALICK Macheso has been given the honour to shut down the 2022 Zimbabwean entertainment calendar here with three high-profile shows in two provinces in South Africa this weekend.

The first show is set for this evening in the eastern province of Mpumalanga at the Witbank City Hall.

He will share the stage with Dino Mudondo of the Ndichakumirira fame.

Local boy, Ice King, will also be there and comedian Apama will make an appearance.

A number of wheel-spinners, among them DJ Stramma, DJ Deevybze, D J Wizzy and MC Buju, will also be in the house.

Tomorrow, a huge turnout is expected to throng popular music venue, Newtown Music Factory (Bassline), where Baba Sharo is expected to give a treat to his Joburg legion of fans.

There will be a change on the DJs line-up where the likes of Mr Gee, DJ Warrior, MC Rico Myers and MC T Boss will join in.

The gig will also coincide with the birthday celebrations of one of the Rich n Famous Entertainment lieutenants, Reason Chikwavira, aka Big Fadda.

Macheso’s tour ends with another performance in Pretoria where he will play at The Pavillion in Sunnyside.

Macheso has always drawn a full house in his previous shows and this weekend’s tour will probably not be an exception.

The tour is bankrolled by Rich n Famous Entertainment fronted by Lovemore Mubaiwa.

The company recently held blockbuster shows for Freeman when he launched his David & Goliath album in South Africa last month.

“All the logistics are in place and we are ready to host all music lovers.

“Security for both revellers and vehicles will be tight and there is nothing to fear,” said Mubaiwa.

The Orchestra Mberikwazvo camp is also raring to go and they have urged their fans to come out in their hundreds.

Presale tickets are available via the company’s social media pages.
