Macheso leaves fans crying for more

The sorrowful song is about vows made by the lovers when one was about to go and study abroad.

The one left behind is reminiscing the good old days when they were still together and the rhumba flair on the song makes it danceable. The crowd went ballistic when famous chanter Jonas Kasamba roared the unmistakable lyrics:

“Chakabatana kunge chibhodhoro, chisingabvinzi chinobvinza chaparuka”.
Buoyed by the appreciative crowd, Kasamba made some fine rhumba dances.
Macheso also dished out the single mothers’ prayer, “Macharangwanda.”

In a world where broken promises, betrayal and rejection after a girl is impregnated are rampant, the song is so relevant.

With single mothers in the crowd, the song was popular that he had to repeat it.
The good thing about the song is that it reflects on what is happening in the society where men refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

The climax of the show was when dancer Beverly “Bev,” Sibanda appeared on stage to dance to Macheso’s “Charakupa.”

Bev made fans drool with anticipation when she took the bottle.
Patrons thought the raunchy dancer was about to repeat her “bottle act,” only to be stopped half way through her performance by Jonas Kasamba.

After all, she was showcasing her talent that has made her a household name in the dancing circles.
Prior to Macheso’s performance, Progress Chipfumo had also given a good account of himself.

Earlier on Jah Prayzah had made a cameo appearance, much to the delight of the multitude of fans.
