Headlining the event will be Zimbabwe’s sungura legend, Alick Macheso and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo Band, promising a night of thrilling entertainment. Affectionately known as the “Doctor of bass guitar”, Macheso, along with fan-favourite band members Mike Maikoro, Selemani “Majuice” Mpochi, and Shame “Kariba” Chidewo, are renowned for their electrifying live performances, ensuring a memorable night for all in attendance.

Macheso will be joined by fellow performers, including DT Bio Mudimba, who rose to fame with his hit song Kujatajata and Clement Magwaza, the energetic Tshibilika/Rhumba artiste known for his dynamic stage presence.

Show organiser, Emmanuel Dube expressed his excitement about the event.

“We’ve organised this musical extravaganza, the Hwange Musical Show, not only for Hwange but for the entire province. We expect attendees from Victoria Falls, Binga, Dete, Tsholotsho and Lupane,” said Dube.

“Hwange has been starved of entertainment of this magnitude, so we’re giving everyone an early Christmas treat as we head towards the end of the year.”

Dube assured music lovers that the event will feature the very best of local music and all necessary arrangements for security and refreshments are in place.

“We guarantee tight security and a wide range of beverages to keep everyone refreshed throughout the night,” he added.

The show is expected to kick off at 6pm and will run until 6am the following day, offering 12 hours of non-stop entertainment. This is the first major event at the venue since a similar show was hosted back in 2019.(Chronicle)
