The musician, who was recently deserted by three key band members – Jonas Kasamba, Noel Nyazanda and drummer, Obert Gomba – is up and running again after he hired replacements.
“I always tell people that the band is called Orchestra Mberikwazvo, the name speaks on itself that we are unstoppable. What happened was meant to strengthen the squad left behind and this is what is happening at the moment.

“This week we are back at Pamuzinda, one of my favourite joints for a very long time. Tichange tichipakura, vanhu vachizora butter seri nekuseri, vamwe ndivo vachange vachicheka nerazor wire,” beamed the Red Cross humanitarian ambassador.
The “King of Sungura”, as Macheso is popularly known in music circles, pleaded with the corporate world to be patient with some of his newly recruited members, but was quick to add that the new guys were gelling well with the rest of the band.
Versatile
Macheso has since replaced “rebel” Gomba with Givemore Chokumanyara while Noel Nyazanda’s place is being taken good care by versatile Donald Gogo.
He recently dazzled revellers at the Sing Along Gig at the Andy Millar Hall following the hugely attended New Life Night Club, Kadoma and Extra Mile shows last week.
Yesterday Extrabassor together with Red CRoss Youth Advocate, Tryson Chimbetu exchanged notes with the society’s provincial youth representatives at Westwood Training Centre in Kambuzuma.
As part of their humanitarian campaigns they discussed issues among them forthcoming road campaigns targeted at helping vulnerable groups around the country.
