TWO machete-wielding robbers have appeared in court on robbery charges.
They allegedly robbed a Harare woman and struck her with a machete.
Moses Mutswiri and Carrington Garikai were not asked to plead, when they appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that on Thursday, the duo and their accomplices, who are still at large, connived to rob Cecelia Mugarisi.
They allegedly scaled a precast wall and found Mugarisi in the garden.
They struck her on the right side of her head, with a machete.
One of the robbers then grabbed her phone.
The robbers were confronted by Mugarisi’s husband, and his driver, and they fled.
Mutswiri, who was armed with the machete, was caught before he could scale the precast wall and disarmed.
Garikai was also caught by the complainants while the other gang members fled in a getaway vehicle.
