NONI MADUEKE led wild celebrations when Arsenal became Premier League champions last week.
And if the winger gets his wish, he will be doing it all over again this weekend after the Gunners have been crowned kings of Europe.
Madueke was the life and soul of the party at Tape nightclub last Tuesday as he and his team-mates toasted winning the Premier League.
The 24-year-old grabbed the mic – acted as the event’s MC – and even treated those there to his rapping skills.
Madueke performed a rap when Chelsea won the Conference League last season – and he may have to do the same if Mikel Arteta’s side can beat Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday’s Champions League final. That would spark huge celebrations for Sunday’s parade around North London, where the Gunners hope to show off a historic Double.
And asked about rapping as Arsenal won the Premier League title, a smiling Madueke said: “Who told you that? Sources, yeah? You must have good sources! “Listen, I was hosting. It was a good party, for sure, and it turned out great. I was hosting the party, it was my party.
“The celebrations were great – winning the Premier League title after 22 years.
“It was just amazing to be with the staff and team, and have a nice night where we could all look back on everything we put in. It was a great time.”
Arsenal had more celebrations on Sunday night after lifting the title at Selhurst Park.
The squad partied with friends and family at the restaurant Bacchanalia in Mayfair, and had Monday off before returning to training today.
Madueke is excited for the showdown with PSG in Budapest and what the scenes could look like if Arsenal are parading two trophies, instead of one. The winger said: “Man, that would be amazing. The Champions League is so big.
“The Premier League is massive, but the Champions League is so big.
“To be able to do that for the first time in the history of the club would be amazing. And then to celebrate it with all the Arsenal fans would be the cherry on top, for sure.”
Madueke will likely have to settle for a spot on the bench for the clash against PSG.
Bukayo Saka is set to start on the right flank and Madueke has had to play second fiddle to him for much of this season.
The winger knew that would be the case when he joined last summer from Chelsea as part of a deal worth £52million.
And it will be the same at this summer’s World Cup, with Madueke pipping Jarrod Bowen to a spot in the England squad.
He said: “Bukayo is a top player. We kind of fight on all fronts – same for England, same for Arsenal. “But, it’s been good. Ultimately, we know that we’re pulling in the same direction. It’s top.
“It’s amazing to have two high-level players, but completely different. So, there’s definitely parts of his game I try and implement into mine. He would probably say the same.
“We’re so close off the pitch, that’s well documented, and it’s been a great season.
“I want to be here. I know he wants to be here. So, it looks like that’s going to be our gig for the foreseeable.”
Madueke believes competing with Saka has improved him as a player – but Arteta has had a big impact.
The Spaniard was a key reason for the winger making the move across London and he has loved working under him.
Madueke said: “He just helped me to be diligent.
“He’s helped me to really care about little details that count a lot towards winning – winning games and fighting for major trophies.
“He hasn’t surprised me, to be fair. I knew from the first conversation I had with him, I knew what type of man and manager he was. Someone that is very humble, hard working and very intense in a positive way.” – Sun
