Fireworks are expected at the Made in Bulawayo Festival set for 15 December at the Luveve Beit Hall.
Event organiser, hip-hop star Cal_Vin said the idea started three years back.
“Basically this festival started in 2016 where it used to be a hip-hop show only but it has grown over the years and this year we are going to have almost all genres,” he said.
The primary mandate of the event is to give local artistes a platform.
“What I can say is that this event is meant to celebrate local artistes, it’s only that no one wanted to step out and do something for Bulawayo compared to Harare, so basically the show is meant to give Bulawayo artistes a stage that most of them are deprived of. This festival is meant to create awareness that Bulawayo can do it and we should not wait for anyone to do it for us,” he said.
He also said this will be a yearly event and next year it will be held in a different venue.
“Made in Bulawayo is an annual event and next year it will be held in a different venue. We got support from Wings (food joint) and Mambazo who supplied lighting,” he said.
Artistes expected to make it rain are Mzoe7, Tebza, Cliff_Jeans, Crazy Masters, Floppy X, Skaiva and Khekhe, among others.
