THE Madhumeni/Abalimisi for Agricultural Transformation, popularly known as Madhumeni/Abalimisi 4ED has declared its strong support for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 and reaffirming its commitment to advancing national agricultural transformation in line with the vision of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The affiliate recently launched its Midlands structures at the ZANU PF Convention Centre in Gweru.
Chairperson of Madhumeni/Abalimisi for Agricultural Transformation Cde Peter Nyeredzi said the affiliate would continue to follow the direction of the ruling party and fully support Government agricultural programmes designed to transform rural livelihoods.

He said the affiliate welcomed Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3.
According to Cde Nyeredzi, the proposed constitutional amendment would allow the country to sustain momentum on life-changing development initiatives without diverting national resources towards frequent electoral processes.
“This creates the policy stability necessary for long-term agricultural transformation and rural industrialisation programmes to fully mature,” he said.
Cde Nyeredzi added that the affiliate believes the continuity of leadership would strengthen the implementation of the President’s rural transformation agenda, particularly programmes aimed at modernising agriculture and building agro-industrial value chains.

He said more than 60 percent of Zimbabwe’s population resides in rural areas and depends on agriculture for livelihoods, making sustained investment in the sector critical to national prosperity.
The organisation, he said, remains firmly committed to supporting programmes that promote rural industrialisation, increased productivity and value addition in agriculture.
“With agriculture at the centre of rural livelihoods, the transformation agenda must remain focused and uninterrupted so that communities can fully benefit from the economic opportunities emerging in the sector,” he said.
The establishment of the Midlands structures marks another milestone in the rapid expansion of Madhumeni/Abalimisi for Agricultural Transformation, which has been mobilising farmers and agricultural professionals nationwide to support the
Government’s food security and rural development agenda.
Midlands Provincial Chairperson Edson Chakanyuka Chiherenge said he was deeply impressed by the affiliate’s zeal in aligning itself with the ruling party’s development agenda, particularly in strengthening agricultural productivity and ensuring sustainable food and nutrition security.
He noted that agriculture remains central to Zimbabwe’s economic transformation, describing the work being undertaken by Madhumeni/Abalimisi as critical to achieving the country’s long-term development aspirations.
He said the vision of Madhumeni/Abalimisi strongly resonates with President Mnangagwa’s broader agricultural transformation agenda, which seeks to guarantee adequate food and nutrition security while reducing reliance on food imports.
