Madinda finally gets his way

WARRIORS legend Madinda Ndlovu a now head coach at Botswana Premier League side Orapa United a last week finally captured the signature of a former Plumtree High student that he has been chasing for three seasons.

The player, 26-six-year old Tapiwa Nyamanjiva spent the last two seasons at Miscellaneous Sporting Club, a team that also plays in the Botswana Premier League.

The Botswana Premier League is on a break and resumes the 2017 /18 season end of July.

a?Coach Madinda tried to sign me three seasons ago when he was still at Township Rollers but my club at that time Botswana Railways Highlanders was not keen on the deal.

a?Finally I will be working with him after signing a two-year contract with Orapa United,a? said Nyamanjiva when B-Metro Sport caught up with him in Plumtree last weekend.

The defensive midfielder is a former Zimbabwe national Under-17 and Under- 20 player.

He completed his A-level studies at Plumtree High School in 2011.

Ndlovu guided Orapa to a third place finish in the Botswana Premier League campaign that ended last month.
a?He (Ndlovu) is a respected coach in Botswana who has won championship titles with three different clubs so working with him is a great pleasure. He is disciplinarian who takes both on field and off the field discipline very seriously,a? he said.

The former Aces Youth Academy (Zimbabwe) player, however, bemoaned the lack of opportunities afforded local players based in Botswana when it comes to national teams selections.

a?Maybe itas because Zimbabwe national teams coaches rarely get a chance to watch guys who play in Botswana but there are players who can represent the country very well from junior to senior level,a? he said. .
