THE annual Madlangombe December football tournament in Tsholotsho which is sponsored by South African based Zimbabweans Mthabisi Dube and Mthonisela Dumani ended with a share of the spoils after the two finalists Buffaloes and Bhulubisa managed a 1-1 scoreline. It was held on Saturday at Madlangombe Clinic grounds, about 25 kilometres from Tsholotsho Business Centre.

The tournament which is in its third year, had Fanegudu, Zibaligwe, Bhulubisa and Bulawayo based Buffaloes fighting for the prize money.

Played on a knockout basis, Buffaloes beat Zibaligwe 3-0 while the other match ended 2-1 in favour of Bhulubisa.

“We want to expose talent in Tsholotsho, especially now that we’ve a premier league team. It’s also an opportunity for us to exorcise this stigma that Injiva are always up to causing trouble,” said Dube.

There was R1,300 for the winners and R400 for the losing finalist but the two teams ended up sharing R1,700.

Dube said they will be inviting premier league clubs to come and tap raw talent during this year’s tournament, which he promised will even be bigger and better.
