MUSICIAN and comedian Madlela Skhobokhobo has utilised his ambassadorial role at Global Water Drillers by working in partnership with the drilling company to donate mealie-meal at the Entembeni Old People’s Home in Luveve.
The donation on Monday of over 100 bags of 10kg mealie meal was handed over during a heart-touching ceremony where the elderly, the home’s administration and workers were all smiles.
Receiving the donation, Entembeni Old People’s Home administrator Naomi Khumalo said Madlela Skhobokhobo had kept to his promise when he once visited the institution.
“When Madlela Skhobokhobo once came here, we told him how as an institution we were not donor-funded and relied on donations therefore the call for more donations.
“The donation is a breakthrough to facilitating a balanced diet for the elderly persons in the home and we thank umhlekisi wesizwe and the Global Water Drillers for such a humble gesture,” said Khumalo.
Madlela Skhobokhobo said he is grateful to work with the drilling company as they have heard all his pleas in being a socially responsible organisation.
“Being an ambassador means a lot than just posing for posters and banners. It should also change the face of the communities we live in thus I’m humbled to be associated with a listening company, the Global Water Drillers which is also making a positive impact in areas countrywide in availing water sources,” said Madlela Skhobokhobo. –@mthabisi_mthire
