SIMON Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel are some of the names that have been synonymous with hosting the famous America’s Got Talent show (AGT).
In the spirit of talent identification, nurturing and youth emancipation, Amazing Stars Arts Academy (ASAA) in conjunction with Simango Entertainment will be hosting the second edition of Iminyela’s Got Talent Show to be held at the Iminyela Hall on Sunday.
Under the theme, #Sizongomsebenzi, the academy seeks to identify talent from the dusty streets of Iminyela, a location usually identified with unruly behaviour from its youths.
Speaking to Chronicle Showbiz, ASAA secretary Junior Forgiven Ndlovu called upon creatives within Iminyela to take part in the event which was initially slated for last Sunday.
“If the image of our community is to improve, each of us must play a part. That’s the very reason why we’re calling on creatives and the community at large to come and witness local talent.
“The event will also aim to teach the youths about the dangers of substance abuse, promiscuity and also how to monetise their craft,” said Junior.
Unlike AGT, this will be a one-day event where the winner will get, “a surprise sponsored by JC suppliers.”
Artiste registration is free and some of the acts to look out for include Street Fame, Dripping Lyrics and Double G just to name a few. – @eMKlss_49
