MULTI-AWARD winning musician-cum-actor Madlela Skhobokhobo has made a seamless transition from stage to the boardroom, becoming one of the most sought after brand ambassadors in the country.

The versatile artiste made his name as a musician with his hit song Ngamnanka uSaMamo and with time he started doing comedy skits and posting them on his social media pages. And now he is working with a number of companies to promote their products and services.

His endorsement journey began with brands approaching him because of his massive following and influence on social media.
“I did not go out there to look for endorsement, they came to me probably after seeing that we can convey their message to the masses properly and I think they chose me believing the market will listen,” said Madlela.

He emphasised the importance of aligning with brands that share his values. His partnerships are built on mutual respect, allowing him to maintain creative freedom while promoting products he believes in.

“I don’t just endorse any product. I need to believe in it, use it and be passionate about it and this selective approach has earned me credibility and trust amongst the fans, making me an attractive partner for brands seeking to tap into the market,” he stated.

As a musician-turned-brand-ambassador, Madlela has shattered traditional industry norms. His success demonstrates that artists can thrive beyond music, leveraging their influence to build sustainable businesses.

“Artists should not rely solely on music sales or performances,” Madlela advised. “We need to diversify our income streams, explore new opportunities, and build brands that transcend our music.”

Madlela, a rhumba musician, acknowledged the challenges of balancing music and endorsements.

“It requires careful planning and time management,” he said.

However, the benefits far outweigh the difficulties, providing financial stability and expanded reach.

“Endorsements have allowed me to invest in my music, create better content, and connect with my audience in new ways,” Madlela revealed.

Madlela’s upcoming single, “PolePole,” promises excitement, with corporate partnerships supporting the production of a high-quality music video. As he continues to navigate the endorsement landscape, Madlela remains committed to authenticity and creativity.

“My goal is to create content that inspires, educates, and entertains. With endorsements, I can amplify my message and make a lasting impact,” he said.
