Madzibaba misses old friends

SUNGURA godfather, Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria, sees the grace of the Lord after clocking over four decades in the game.

The 65-year-old has lost some of his products and peers.

“I always thank God for the protection.

“I have groomed a number of stars and it’s sad that some of them are no longer alive.

“I can’t say I’m the clever one who remains alive but it can only be God’s favour, which has seen me live to this day,” he said.

One of the biggest stars he worked with was System Tazvida while a number of artists of his generation died.

“I worked with a number of talented musicians who were geniuses but death robbed me of my good friends.

“This has brought me closer to God because without Him we are nothing,” he said.

With over 20 albums to his name, Madzibaba has vowed to continue working hard and releasing new stuff.

“As an artist, it is my responsibility to continue working hard and ensure that I give fans something new.

“My music is part of God’s ministry which I was sent to preach so I can’t quit music,” he said.
