A POLYGAMOUS man from Bulawayo has been accused by his second wife of favouritism and emotional abuse.
Oripa Shonhiwa said she had become the butt of all witchcraft jokes because of her husband Zebediah Muruviwa and his first wife Tsitsi Mukwishaas false accusations that she was in possession of goblins.
Shonhiwa said her husband was also refusing to eat food she cooks fearing that she allegedly wants to kill him.
Shonhiwa registered her anger at the Bulawayo Civil Court where she separately sued both Muruviwa and Mukwisha for disturbing her peace.
a?I am in a polygamous marriage with Tsitsi Mukwisha and sheas the first wife. Mukwisha accuses me of practising witchcraft and Satanism. Sheas also telling people that Iam in possession of goblins.
a?As if thatas not enough, our husband is also violent towards me. Heas in the habit of threatening me while also accusing me of practising witchcraft. Heas telling people that I bewitched him and the first wife. Heas also posting messages on Facebook labelling me a witch.
a?Because of their false accusations I am no longer feeling safe as people always mock me wherever I go. Heas also refusing to eat food that I would have prepared for him,a? said Shonhiwa before she called for the court to take action against the two.
However, the two respondents (Mukwisha and Muruviwa) debunked Shonhiwaas allegations, stating that they were living peacefully.
In his ruling presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova ordered Muruviwa to go for counselling with his two wives.
