HARARE City assistant coach Mike Madzivanyika is hopeful his team will give CAPS United a good run when they clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter on Sunday. The Sunshine Boys trained without their coach for the better part of the week as head coach Taurai Mangwiro has been attending a refresher course in Mutare. “We have been working hard the past week and everyone is ready for the game against CAPS United,” said Madzivanyika.

“We are looking forward to it and after a slow start to the season we expect to do well and continue from where we left in our last encounter. “The break we had to pave way for the Independence Cup will not be much of a concern as our opponents were resting as well so it will not be an excuse.” Harare City beat their opponents in the ZNA Charities showdown earlier this year.

“This will be a new game altogether and we will approach it with caution. There won’t be time for complacency, thinking of the last game but we will take it as a different match. “The game will be exciting because of the players who were at CAPS United and who are now with us and we hope that will work in our favour.

“Our technical team was at one point with our opponents but that is football and we will do our best.” Goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube is one of those former CAPS United players in the Sunshine Boys’ squad.

“Most of us have played against most of our opponents and, also as teammates, and we know each other well but a lot has changed since we parted ways. “Harare City have added some new players and so have CAPS United and so we are just looking forward to the derby.

“We are well prepared for the match come Sunday,” Dube said. Harare City will go into the match without midfield hardman James Jam who is injured.
