HIGHLANDERS coach Bongani Mafu has urged supporters to rally behind the team when they take on an intimidating How Mine in the Zimbabwe National Army Charities Shield semi-final match at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.
The other semi-final will feature Harare rivals Dynamos and Caps United at Rufaro Stadium. A big turn out is expected at both matches as supporters want to assess the strength of their teams ahead of the start of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League 2015 season next weekend.
Highlanders have not registered a win in pre-season matches at Barbourfields Stadium having drawn against Chapungu United, FC Platinum, newly promoted Zifa Southern Region Division One side Bulawayo City Football Club and they were booted out of the Bob91 Cup by Caps United.
Highlanders players have however been displaying some good football giving hope to their fans that they will soon register positive results.
“We are under no pressure at all, we have been working hard and know that we are on the right track. We are looking forward to handing our passionate fans victory this Sunday as preparations went on well,” said Mafu.
He said he was under no illusion of the massive force they are coming up against on Sunday but remained optimistic that his boys will give it their best.
“A few of our players are injured but whoever we will throw in on Sunday I’m sure will give 200 percent. We know we are facing a very strong team but we will do our best because we want a win,” said Mafu.
