THE trial date for Prophet Walter Magaya, founder of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, has been officially set for January 26 next year.
Magaya faces five counts of rape, which include an allegation that he fathered a child with one of the victims.
The alleged incidents took place between 2018 and 2023 and involve two complainants.
During the court proceedings, prosecutor Mr Clemence Chimbare also sought a postponement of the fraud case in which Magaya, along with his wife Tendai and their two companies, is implicated.
The State is expected to notify the accused about the hearing date for this matter at the High Court.
The couple faces 78 fraud charges connected to their businesses, Planet Africa (Private) Limited and Yadah Connect (Private) Limited.
According to the State, the Magayas misrepresented to their congregants that they had residential stands for sale in various locations across Zimbabwe.
Victims reportedly lost a combined US$49 240 and R195 000 in the botched land deal.
Further, they are accused of soliciting investments in various ventures while promising investors a 50 percent return within six months, a promise that was never fulfilled.
