MAGICAL ZIM FLEXES MUSCLES. . . Experiences record growing interest among tourists

INTEREST in visiting Zimbabwe has soared to record levels among tourists around the world with the country registering the BIGGEST rise, in the last four years, in a travel poll by leading British newspaper, The Telegraph.

The country has moved up 41 places, the biggest rise throughout the world, overshadowing the likes of Finland, who were second, and Argentina, who were third, in terms of this positive projection.

Oman were fourth, among this group, with Morocco (fifth), Spain (sixth), Grenada (seventh), France (eighth), Malaysia (ninth) and Brazil (10th).

from number 86 in 2019 to 45 in 2023.

South Africa topped the list and was crowned the best travel destination in the 2023 Telegraph Travel Awards, followed by Portugal and Japan.

Botswana and Kenya also made the top 10.

Other countries that saw a rise in popularity include Turkey, Greece and Egypt.

Although Botswana made the top 10, it was one of the countries who endured a fall, from the previous rankings in 2019, as it dropped four places.

Cambodia dropped 17 places while Singapore (-16), the United States (-12), Peru (-11), Canada, Namibia and Turkey (all -7) and Tanzania (-4) also fell down the table

South Africa took the baton from New Zealand.

The Rainbow Nation was ranked third in 2017.

Kenya were placed in seventh place and Botswana in 10th place.
