Magistrate Masimba dies

 

Justice and Legal Affairs ministry said Mr Masimba died last Thursday.

Born on February 4, 1957, in Chivi District, Masvingo, Mr Masimba did his secondary education at Berejena and Gokomere High school.
He joined the liberation war in 1976 and came back to Zimbabwe at independence and trained as a magistrate at the University of Zimbabwe between 1981 and 1982. Mr Masimba did his in-service training at the end of 1982 after joining the Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs ministry.

He worked as a trainee magistrate in Kwekwe and Bulawayo and was sworn in as a magistrate in 1984.
In 1987, Mr Masimba was promoted to senior magistrate and to provincial magistrate in 1989. In 1990, he was transferred from Bulawayo to Chiredzi as a resident magistrate.

He was then transferred to head Masvingo Province in 1991.
Mr Masimba became the provincial head of Matabeleland North in 2001.

He is survived by wife, Sherry Rose Masimba and four children.

He will be buried today at his Famona Farm, Inyati.
