A MUTARE magistrate has warned nosy children against interfering in fights between their parents after a man had dragged his wife and six children to court for teaming up against him.
Tinowedu Pepukai had dragged his wife, Shylet Nyambuwa and six minor children claiming that they were in the habit of teaming up with their mother to assault and threaten him.
Mutare magistrate, Mrs Annia Ndiraya, warned the six children against interfering in their parents’ arguments.
“If your parents are having problems and fighting, you have no business in it and should not interfere.
“Let them solve their own problems alone. In as much as you love your mother, he is also your father and you are not supposed to team up with either one of your parents against the other because they are both your parents and deserve your respect and love not your hatred,” she advised.
Mrs Ndiraya went on to warn the parents against having fights in front of their children.
“You have your bedroom to fight in and if you do have to fight, consider the future of your children and fight in their absence,” she concluded.
Pepukai had told the court that Nyambuwa had teamed up with their six children against him after he had asked her why she had not recharged their prepaid electricity.
He claimed that they had all become violent towards him, saying that he was the one who was supposed to pay since he was the head of the family.
