After eluding authorities for eight years, Silindi Ncube (38) was apprehended last Friday for the alleged murder of his sister in Old Magwegwe suburb.

The long-awaited arrest unfolded when residents spotted Ncube sitting forlornly outside the family home where the tragic incident occurred.

Following his arrest, Ncube appeared before Magistrate Mrs Melinda Mufungidza at West Commonage Court.
She remanded the case to September 26.

Mrs Mufungidza advised Ncube to seek bail at the High Court.
During the brief court appearance, Ncube was not required to enter a plea to the charges pending against him.

The sudden turn of events has left the Old Magwegwe community reeling, as residents recall the tragic incident that had haunted the suburb for nearly a decade.
