WARRIORS’ skilful winger, Kudakwashe Mahachi is back at training with Mamelodi Sundowns after being sidelined in last week’s Telkom Knockout Cup. Mamelodi Sundowns beat Pretoria University 2-1 in a fiercely contested match. Mahachi suffered an ankle injury at training ahead of his team’s clash with Pretoria University. The former Chicken Inn and Highlanders midfielder said he is enjoying himself at the Brazilians.

“There is a lot of difference in South Africa’s Absa Premiership and the Zimbabwean PSL. Here especially at Sundowns, the team is run professionally which compares well with European standards. They have world class facilities, now it’s up to me and other players to repay the management for the good treatment through winning silverware and defending the league championship. Last week I suffered an ankle injury but I’m okay now.”

Thulani Thuswa Sundowns’ communications co-ordinator said: “Kuda is back in training with the rest of the team after a short rest due to an ankle injury. He and other players who are coming from the injury the likes of Khama Billiat and Lebohang Mokoena will have enough time to gel well with the team as we have a two-week break due to Bafana Bafana’s African Cup of Nations game.”

Mahachi who spent a few months with the Bulawayo giants Highlanders on loan from Sundowns early this year, is regarded as one the team’s best players.
Sundowns’ next league game is on October 18 at Loftus Stadium against Wits.
