GOSPEL group Mahendere Brothers who recently performed in Bulawayo and left fans on cloud nine, are set to release their album called Rebirth at the end of this month. This will be the group’s 14th album. Rebirth talks of the group’s comeback to the music scene. It is a 10-track album and which features gospel rhumba songs, which will surely bring the best out of Amos and company as they dance for the Lord.
On the album, the brothers hired the services of a DRC musician to spice up the album with rhumba beat. One song that is set to appeal to fans is
Mukadzi waPortifa, which left fans asking for more at the recent gospel extravaganza.
Amos Mahendere, the leader of the group, said they were back after a long absence.
“Gospel shows in the country are no longer energetic and this is what is missing which we want to provide. I don’t know who said only secular shows should be energetic. We are back and fans should expect more from us, we are continuing from where we left in 2009,” he said.
The brothers staged a good show at the gospel extravaganza held last Saturday in the city.
