THE Mahwindo Foundation has donated a new branded kit to ZIFA Northern Region Division One football club, Banket United.

The kit was handed over at Kuwadzana Stadium in Banket on Saturday.

“It’s part of our national campaign to help, whenever we feel there is a need for us to play our part and we believe that Banket United needs that assistance,” said foundation director, Wanisai “Mahwindo” Mutandwa.

“This football club means a lot to its community and when it is doing well, the whole town will be in a good mood.

“It’s a lovely community club and individuals are sacrificing a lot of their money just to keep it going, on behalf of their hometown.

“We came in to assist those individuals, and the community at large, and we believe that our new kit will also inspire the players and coaches to try a bit harder to win matches.”

Banket United are an established member of the lower leagues of domestic football and have produced some fine players, along the way, notably the Nzombe brothers — Simbarashe and Shepherd.

Simbarashe, a veteran headmaster, is now the chairman of the club.
