Mai Denzel inspires jazz artist

AFRO fusion artist, Lovemore “Lovezh” Nerudzo, reckons married women need enough time with their spouses to curb cheating.

The 36-year-old believes expensive gifts and money are not enough to please women.

The Brave Stars frontman opened up through his seventh album titled Chiranga Mapenzi.

One of the songs  ‘‘Rudo Chete’’ was inspired by an H-Metro story involving Mai Denzel, who was exposed for cheating on her husband by a disgruntled ex-boyfriend.

“Most of the songs on this album are centrally about love and how it hurts weak people,” says Lovezh.

“In one of the songs, I was really inspired by Mai Denzel who once made headlines in your paper (H-Metro) as a bed-hopping woman.

“While her case divided opinion, I drew some lessons that I am going to share with the world.

“One of the lessons is that men need to be strong when they find out the truth.

“On the other hand, women need a lot of attention because they will end up getting it from somewhere and it won’t end well.”

Lovezh says Mai Denzel’s debate was healthy as both men were to blame.

“You can buy an expensive gift for your wife but she might end up bedding a gardener because he will be available when needed.

“In marriages, we really need each other and nothing beats attention.

“We might be hard workers as men but nothing beats attention and care,” says the crooner.

He, however, urged men to avoid crimes of passion or suicide when cheated.

“As men we might be powerful in society but weak in the mind. It takes a lot to move on when cheated or when they catch their partners between the sheets with other men.

“I decided to preach this through my music. Most of the issues here were experienced by close friends of mine.”

Lovezh is a close friend of Suluman Chimbetu.

“I play a rhythm guitar but it was never my dream to record music.

“Sulu and Knodza have been pushing me to record my music and I didn’t want to disappoint them,

“However, I don’t usually hold live shows but I just record for fun.

“I enjoy networking with people through music. On April 6, I will launch my album at LongCheng  where I have invited Carlos Green, Jean Mai Denzel inspires jazz artist Masters, Samukoko and Wanai to support me.”

Recorded at KOM Studios by Oscar Chamba and Knowledge Nkoma, Chiranga Mapenzi carries 12 tracks.
