KADOMA-BASED gospel singer, Maggie Tinyani, is making a mark in the country’s gospel music industry with her touching songs.
Better known as “Mai Mutinhimira”, the songbird is topping the charts on local radio stations.
Her spiritually uplifting song, Amazulu, saw her making a breakthrough and touching the hearts of gospel fans.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mai Mutinhimira said the song was inspired by hardships that people face and their need to call upon God in such times.
“All the hardships that individuals face need them to turn to the Lord where the answer lies.
“The response might be slow, but just know that the Lord never forsakes you. He will be preparing something great for you, just be patient with Him,” said Mai Mutinhimira.
The Masvingo-born musician released her first album in 2021 titled Ngatiparidzei vhangeri.
This saw her being invited to Jive TV for “Jive Sessions” where she launched her album to Harare fans and received positive reviews.
The response motivated her to release a second album in 2022 titled Kune vatumwa.
Apart from these two albums, Mai Mutinhimira has collaborated with various gospel musicians, including the likes of Bethany Pasinawako, Dispatch, Simbarashe Ndungwa and David Mabvuramiti.
She also assisted Afrobeat musician, Oryanoe, when they collaborated on a single track titled Israel.
Mai Mutinhimira has also shared the stage with various top gospel artists, including Dorcas Moyo, at the Kadoma Gospel Festival and at Ndungwa’s album launch.
She is currently working on her third album to be released later this month.
