GOSPEL diva Mai Patai yesterday performed at a special event to mark the International Twins Day at Harare Gardens.
Mai Patai entertained twins and triplets who graced the event.
Among the guests were Farai Lawyer Katonha and Tendai Mayor Katonha who are the leaders of Africa Twins Association (ATA).
“I feel humbled to see the wonders and rare gifts of God in these twins and triplets,” said Mai Patai.
“This event marks my coming back to Harare from Midlands province.
“These triplets and twins will be among my guests when I launch my new album in November.
“I want to thank the Katonha twins and their spouses for addressing the challenges faced by parents of these twins and multiple births.”
Former flyweight boxing champion, Arifonso ‘‘Mosquito’’ Zvenyika also graced the event.
“These triplets and twins have different talents and today I am here to tell them that I went overseas because of boxing.
“Born and raised in Mbare, God used boxing to help me make a name for myself across the globe,” said Mosquito.
The Katonha twins said they will continue to knock on doors throughout Africa to make sure the challenges faced by parents of twins and multiple births were addressed.
“As heads of ATA, we join other nations in the world in celebrating the day of twins and multiple births.
“We have been engaging policy makers and ambassadors of various countries within the continent to address education and health challenges faced by the multiple births community.
“We embrace all religions and cultures.”
