MAI TT says some children at Jairos Jiri Children’s Home in Harare moved her to tears and powered her spirit to dedicate her time and resources to improving their welfare.
She brought early Christmas joy to the students by donating an array of essential items, including groceries, toiletries, two 5,000-litre water tanks, a gas tank, wheelchairs, crutches, blankets, detergents, and kitchen utensils to the children’s home.
Mai TT said she sought and received funding from her devoted fans around the world.
“I was unaware of their circumstances, previously I only focused on my work at the Female Prison.
“When I visited, I was moved to tears and it provoked a strong response in me, inspiring me to engage fans across the globe. Thank you my fans, this is one of the fertile grounds where we have planted our seeds.
“Remain blessed.”
She joined the children on the dance floor, offering them support.
Dr Avilla Goba, an executive member of the Jairos Jiri Association, praised Mai TT.“Well done, Mai TT, today, we gather in a spirit of gratitude, unity and renewed hope.
“On behalf of the Jairos Jiri Centre in Harare, I extend our heartfelt thanks to a woman whose name is synonymous with resilience, generosity, and compassion — Madam Felistas Murata, affectionately known as Mai TT.
“Your kindness in donating items such as a washing machine and food supplies will significantly impact the lives of our special children.
“These donations are more than material possessions, they symbolise hope, support and the belief that our children deserve every opportunity to lead fulfilling lives.
“It is a powerful act of love, declaring that every child, regardless of ability or circumstances, deserves dignity, opportunity, and a bright future.”
She added:
“At Jairos Jiri Centre, we serve learners who face unique challenges but also possess extraordinary potential. Your support will help us provide better resources, inclusive learning tools, and a nurturing environment where every learner can thrive.
“You have not just given to an institution, you have invested in dreams and futures, becoming part of the heartbeat of our nation.”
Dr Grace Kamanga, another executive member, said:
“Your remarkable ability to inspire and network has catalysed a wave of generosity that extends far beyond these walls.
“Today, we bear witness to a symphony of solidarity as you present a donation that will fortify the lives of children with disabilities here at the Jairos Jiri Children’s Centre.
“This assemblage of provisions is a testament to your visionary leadership and the generosity of every benefactor who answered your call.
“In the tapestry of our nation’s social fabric, it is individuals like you, Mai TT— public figures with a pulse for philanthropy — who weave the strongest threads.
“Your actions resonate with the ancient spirit of ubuntu, which teaches us, ‘I am because we are.’
She added:
“May the love and compassion you have shown today ripple outward, touching every other Jairos Jiri Association service centre in need of such benevolence.”
