A NEW chapter in Gokwe North’s development is taking shape with the construction of the US$2 million King Solomon’s Nembudziya Hotel, a first-of-its-kind facility in the rural district poised to redefine its hospitality and tourism potential.
Developed by Inductoserve Holdings and spearheaded by prominent businessman and philanthropist Dr Solomon Matsa, the hotel is set to officially open in September.
It features 20 elegantly furnished rooms and two spacious conference centres, offering a modern and comfortable retreat for guests.
The arrival of King Solomon’s Nembudziya Hotel is more than just a commercial venture, but a symbol of transformation.
Long perceived as underdeveloped and overlooked, Gokwe North is now stepping into the spotlight with renewed economic potential.
“This is the first hotel in Nembudziya to provide warm showers to our clients. We aim to establish a collaborative environment with neighbouring lodges, ensuring a win-win situation for all involved,” he said.
Dr Matsa, who also owns the popular King Solomon’s Hotel in Kwekwe, said the Nembudziya project was inspired by President Mnangagwa’s call to foster inclusive growth under Vision 2030.
“We recognised the opportunity to provide something unprecedented in the area and invested US$2,2million into this venture.
“The main reason we decided to open a hotel in Gokwe is that we listened to the President’s call to leave no one and no place behind in line with Vision 2030,” he said.
Already, the hotel has created employment for 20 people, 90 percent of whom are local residents, which is a key step in uplifting the community economically.
Beyond accommodation and conferencing, the hotel is expected to stimulate tourism by drawing visitors to nearby attractions such as Gandavaroyi Falls and Chizarira National Park.
Local residents have welcomed the development with enthusiasm.
“This hotel is a fantastic addition to Gokwe. It enhances our business environment, attracts more investment and gives us a beautiful venue for events and getaways,” said Ms Anna Moyo of Nembudziya.
The launch of King Solomon’s Nembudziya Hotel follows the district’s hosting of the 45th Independence Day celebrations in April this year, an event that put Gokwe North in the national spotlight. Since then, the area has witnessed a surge in infrastructure development.
