Trust Khosa in Mt Darwin
ORCHESTRA Mberikwazvo star dancer, Selemani “Majuice” Mpochi, says he salutes both the departed and living heroes who liberated Zimbabwe.
The phenomenal dancer was mobbed by fans here when they arrived at Mt Darwin Stadium yesterday for the 43rd Independence celebrations.
“It feels great to be here celebrating this day with other Zimbabweans. I feel happy to be here marking this important day.
“To the people of Mashonaland Central, you are blessed to be hosting this important event.
“We will always give you our best performances wherever we perform.’’
Majuice hailed his paymaster, Alick Macheso, for giving him the platform to shine.
“In my case, I also want to thank Baba Sharon for giving me this platform to shine. I enjoy the freedom and, of course, the empowerment he gave me to be where I am today.
“These achievements are a result of the freedom we enjoy,” he said.
Attendance at the celebrations was massive.
Some people started trickling in on Monday night.
Yesterday, a big crowd started swelling as early as 6am.
